So Long LiveJournal

Once upon a time LiveJournal was a major contender on the web, somewhere between a blog and a MySpace, LiveJournal was pretty popular. But with the rise of real blogs and MySpace and then Facebook, Livejournal is looking more like Friendster, so much so that it’s been jettisoned off on SUP, a russian media company. This makes some sort of sense because Livejournal has a large Russian and overseas base and a dwindling American one.

While I never went for Livejournal myself, the format had its appeal for those who were more interested in social networking than blogging. It had a crisp and neat layout and was easy enough to use. It would also become quickly irrelevant. So long Livejournal.
